What is a CCG?
Horsham and Mid Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group is led by local doctors and health professionals and covers Crawley and the surrounding area.
Our CCG is made up of 23 GP practices and is responsible for the health and wellbeing of more than 225,000 people.
We have a strong leadership team of local doctors, hospital consultants and nurses who are working alongside an experienced local management team to make sure that local services are providing the best possible care for local people.
We have already been leading decisions about local health services working closely with NHS Sussex and have full responsibility from 1st April 2013.
How we fit in the local NHS
We will be working closely with our local health and social care partners across Horsham, Mid Sussex and the rest of West Sussex, and Sussex more widely.
We want to bring the whole system closer together making sure services are joined up and support our patients in the best possible way.
Our role in the local health system is as commissioners – we plan and buy many of the local health services from a number of providers. We do not directly provide health services in our role as Horsham and Mid Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group.
