West Sussex PCT covers an area of 782 square miles, with a total population of 762,000 and 95 GP practices.  We are the fourth largest PCT in the country.  We have a budget of £1 billion, around £1,220 for every person in our area, and is it is our job to make sure we plan health services appropriately for the most number of people. 

As a PCT our role is to improve the health of the local community, reduce inequalities in health and make sure people have access to safe, high quality health services.

We work with local hospitals, specialist health providers, GPs, family health practitioners, local authorities, the county council and local people to ensure that we provide the right health services in the right place when they are needed.

We also employ around 3,000 people providing a range of services from GP practices, health centres, clinics, community hospitals and in people’s own homes.

We report to NHS South East Coast , the regional headquarters of the NHS in  Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
